Self taught cake designer, Tara Parsons owns Not Just Cakes, a small boutique bakery located at 340 Keltic drive in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. Tara began baking as a child and continued learning and perfecting her skills as she grew up from her aunt, who created custom wedding cakes. Her love for baking grew into a business over the years and the studio shop location opened in the Spring of 2018. Come say hello and taste our sweets, all made from scratch!

Events & Celebrations

We love creating sweet treats for birthdays, anniversaries or other special celebrations. Custom sweet orders can book up quickly, especially on popular weekends so we ask you book your custom orders with us as early as possible! Our signature cakes can usually be booked up to one week in advance.

Weddings

We specialize in creating custom sweets for your big day. Consultations are included to make your vision come to life with a custom design to match your wedding. You can view our popular Wedding Cake Flavour List on our Menu page.

We are now accepting wedding bookings for 2024. Booking is now open for 2020 weddings.
